Japan's NSSC up Dec domestic stainless CRC, plate prices


For December domestic sales to distributors Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corp (NSSC), Japan's largest stainless producer, has lifted its list prices of the 300-series cold rolled coils (CRC) and plate by Yen 25,000/tonne ($220/t), and 400-series CRC by Yen 15,000/t on month, mainly to reflect higher production costs including ferrochrome and nickel, a company official confirmed on December 9.
NSSC's monthly alloy surcharge formula has justified part of the rises, according to the official, as both nickel and ferrochrome prices had been higher over October-November, leading to increments of Yen 15,000/t for the 300-series CRC and plate, and Yen 5,000/t for the 400-series CRC, and the balance of Yen
