Japan Nov crude steel output up y-o-y 9th month by 10.7%


In November, Japan's crude steel output including carbon and special steel increased on year for the nine consecutive month, up 10.7% on year to about 8.04 million tonnes, according to the data released by the Japan Iron & Steel Federation (JISF) on December 22, showing that Japanese mills have been maintaining high output.
Nevertheless, Japan's crude steel output in November was down 2.2% on month, among which blast-furnace (BF) mills produced 5.83 million tonnes, up 10.3% on year but down 3% on month, and the balance by electric-arc-furnace (EAF) mills grew 11.7% on year but down 0.2% on month.
