China's 2021 manganese ore imports down 5% on year

China's imports of manganese ore totalled 30 million tonnes during 2021, down 5% from the previous year, according to the latest detailed data released by China's General Administration of Customs.

The significant on-year fall was mainly attributed to the lower imports in last year's second half due to the shrinking demand from ferroalloys smelters with the restrictions on energy consumption imposed in many regions of China.
