Japan Osaka Steel keeps section prices flat for Feb sales

Osaka Steel, Japan's largest steel sections producer, has decided to keep its prices for February domestic sales unchanged for the third month, to give another month for the spot market to digest the previous hikes, though the further rise in production costs is expected, according to a company official on January 26.

The company, a subsidiary of Nippon Steel, has increased its prices for sections such as angles and channels by a total of Yen 23,000/tonne ($200/t) over June-November, mainly to shift higher production costs, as reported.
