WEEKLY: Aussie, Brazil iron ore shipment further up 2.9%

Iron ore shipments from Australia and Brazil to global destinations increased for their third week over August 5-11, up another 668,000 tonnes or 2.9% on week to 23.8 million tonnes because of higher volume from Australia, according to Mysteel’s latest survey.
Over the period, Australia shipped 16.6 million tonnes of iron ore, up 654,000 tonnes or 4.1% on week, among which, the tonnage bound for China climbed another 169,000 tonnes or 1.2% on week to 14.4 million tonnes, with the increase being from Rio Tinto and BHP.
