Overview
In line with China's 15th Five-Year Plan for energy development, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Indonesian Coal Association are hosting the 2026 China-Indonesia Coal Conference in Indonesia. This event will drive high-quality cooperation in the coal and energy sectors. The Indonesia International Coal and Energy Industry Expo will be held concurrently, as part of CCPIT's 2026 overseas exhibition plan.
Conference Background
Indonesia is a leading global coal producer, exporting 555 million tons of its 836 million tons production in 2024, making it the world's largest coal exporter. Coal significantly supports Indonesia's GDP growth, and China, as its largest importer, is a key partner in the sector.
To drive growth and transformation, Indonesia seeks cooperation in enhancing coal's economic value, reducing costs, and upgrading technology. Opportunities for China-Indonesia collaboration include underground mining, coal washing, downstream processing, coal chemicals, and new energy solutions, offering significant development prospects for both countries.
