WEEKLY: Chinese mills' steel stocks up 6.3% over holiday

Inventories of the five major carbon steel products held by the Chinese steel mills under Mysteel's regular survey accumulated during the country's National Day holiday ended on October 7, with the total volume reaching 4.04 million tonnes as of October 6, higher by 6.3% from that on September 26.

The five major steel products comprise rebar, wire rod, hot-rolled coil (HRC), cold-rolled coil (CRC) and medium plate. During the latest survey period, inventories of all these major steel products increased on a weekly basis, albeit by varying degrees, the survey results showed.
