WEEKLY: China's HRC export prices slip amid holiday lull

China's export hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices softened over the past week, accompanied by subdued transactions for the China-origin flat product, Mysteel's weekly market roundup shows.

As of December 27, the Chinese export price of SS400 3mm HRC under Mysteel's assessment fell by $5/tonne on week to $487/t FOB from North China's Tianjin port. Major Chinese steel mills kept their export HRC quotations largely steady at $480-490/t FOB last week. However, trading volumes were limited as overseas buying activity quietened down due
