WEEKLY: China's washed met coal output up, stocks down

The operational rate of the 110 Chinese independent and affiliated coking coal wash plants under Mysteel's regular survey had increased by 2.51 percentage points on week to 74.25% over June 15-20. Survey respondents cited the increasing coal bookings from downstream users and buoyant sentiment in the steel market for the rise.

Meanwhile, the total processed coking coal production among the sampled plants also edged up by 18,100 tonnes/day on week to 634,200 t/d as of Tuesday. Both independent and affiliated wash plants resumed operations or lifted their production over the survey week, encouraged by the improving demand from customers as well
