China's graphite electrode prices seen weakening in Nov

Prices for ultra-high-power (UHP) graphite electrodes in China are likely to head south this month due to intense competition among electrode suppliers and the likely decline in demand from electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers, Mysteel's survey suggests.

As of November 7, Mysteel's benchmark price for 350mm diameter UHP graphite electrodes in East China's Jiangsu province stood at Yuan 16,000/tonne ($2,228/t), lower by Yuan 300/t from the end of October, while that for 600mm electrodes had also slipped Yuan 300/t from October 31 to reach Yuan 18,300/t,
