MMG's copper output down 18% on year, zinc doubles

Minerals and Metals Group (MMG), the Australian nonferrous metals subsidiary of China Minmetals Corporation (Minmetals), has disclosed that its copper output over July-September declined 11% on quarter or 18% on year while its zinc production saw a huge year-on-year surge of 234% over the same period.

Over the quarter ended September 30, MMG produced 121,926 tonnes of copper including 87,087 tonnes of pure metal in concentrate and 34,839 tonnes of cathode from its four copper mines comprising Las Bambas in east Peru, Sepon in southern Laos, Kinsevere in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rosebery
