China’s seamless pipe producers feel eco-checks pressure

Seamless pipe producers in Linyi of East China’s Shandong province have been commanded to idle the majority of their extrusion capacities amid the intensified environmental protection checks in the city since mid-July, market sources shared on July 24.

“The requirement on the emissions of all pollutants is too high for us to meet, so we can’t do anything but to stop eight of our 12 seamless pipe lines,” an official from a 600,000 tonnes/year seamless pipe plant in Linyi admitted. The situation is the same, if not worse,
