CONF: ASEAN-6 steel consumption in H1 up 5.9% on year

Apparent steel consumption in the ASEAN-6 countries totaled 39.2 million tonnes in the first half of 2019, up 5.9% on year, and their steel production grew 9.7% on year, with both long and flat steel posting positive growths on year too for the whole region, Yeoh Wee Jin, Secretary General Designate of the South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI) shared at the 2019 ASEAN Iron & Steel Sustainability Forum in Jakarta of Indonesia on November 25.
