NBS: China Jan-Aug steel output up faster by 3.7% on year

China’s crude steel output grew faster by 3.7% on year to about 689 million tonnes over January-August than the 2.8% annual growth for the first seven months, according to the data released by the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on September 15, as the country’s August daily crude steel production reached a record high, Mysteel Global noted.

ForAugust alone,China produced 94.9million tonnes of crude steel,up 8.4% on year, or the daily output averaging about 3.06 million tonnes/day, reversing up 1.6% on month after one-month retreat in July,Mysteel Global calculated basing ontheNBS data.
