China’s manganese ore imports grow to 8-month high

China’s manganese ore imports increased further to hit an eight-month high of 3.19 million tonnes in August, growing by another 8% on month, according to the latest detailed data released by China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC).

Last month’s imports were also 8.4% higher on year, indicating that shipments of this ore from major overseas exporters had returned to normal, despite the on-going battle against COVID-19 in manganese ore exporting countries, Mysteel Global notes.
