MYSTEEL: China’s July ferrosilicon output up slightly

China’s ferrosilicon production increased for the second month in July, with the tonnage edging up by 1,600 tonnes or 0.3% on month to reach 510,900 tonnes, according to Mysteel’s latest monthly survey among the country’s 136 producers. The capacity of the surveyed smelters accounts for almost all the country’s total.

Among the five key FeSi production bases, output in North China’s Inner Mongolia posted the sharpest fall of 6,800 tonnes or 4.5% on month, while output in Northwest China’s Ningxia declined by 2.5% on month, the survey showed. Smelters in Inner Mongolia were under restrictions on power use, while smelters
