Osaka Steel lifts section prices by $26/t for Mar sales

Osaka Steel, Japan's largest steel section producer, has decided to lift its prices for March domestic sales by Yen 3,000/tonne ($26/t) to transfer the recent rise in scrap prices, according to a company official on February 25.

The company, a subsidiary of Nippon Steel, had last increased its prices for sections such as angles and channels by a total of Yen 23,000/t over June-November, mainly to shift higher production costs, but it had then kept the prices unchanged for December-February, as reported. The official said that the
