Osaka Steel again lifts section prices by $39/t for May

Osaka Steel, Japan's largest steel section producer, has decided to make an additional hike for its section prices by Yen 5,000/tonne ($39/t) for May domestic sales, to transfer the further rise in production costs. The company also plans to trim its sales volume by 30% to tighten section supply, a company official shared on Monday.

With the latest adjustment, Osaka Steel, a subsidiary of Nippon Steel, has added a total of Yen 15,000/t since March and its total price increment since June 2021 has reached Yen 38,000/t. The price adjustment will apply for its section products including angles and channels, Mysteel Global noted. Osaka Steel
