NSSC hikes rod price further for May-Jun over higher alloy

Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corp (NSSC), Japan's largest stainless producer under Nippon Steel, has decided to add Yen 155,000/tonne ($1,223/t) to its domestic list prices of 300-series stainless wire rods and Yen 25,000/t for the 400-series for May-June sales, mainly to reflect higher alloy prices and the recent depreciation of Yen, according to a company official.

NSSC last added Yen 50,000/t to its 300-series rod prices for March-April as a temporary measure to avoid potential risks with the surge in alloy prices by shortening the price term from three months to two months, as reported. "We'll continue to set the price term for two months because
