NSSC cuts Jul-Aug 300-series rod prices but lifts 400-series

Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Corp (NSSC), Japan's largest stainless producer under Nippon Steel, has decided to cut its list prices of 300-series stainless wire rods by Yen 20,000/tonne ($145/t) for domestic sales over July-August, mainly to reflect the decline in nickel prices. But it has also added Yen 30,000/t for 400-series with the rise in ferrochrome prices, according to a company official.

NSSC last added a large Yen 155,000/t for 300-series rods and Yen 25,000/t for 400-series for May-June sales. And the total increment for 300-series until June since September 2020 had reached Yen 360,000/t and that (including the latest hike) for 400-series since June 2020 had become Yen 120,000/t.
