The accumulative volume of crude oil transported by Yantai Port crude pipeline, located at East China's Shandong province, has reached 100.01 million tonnes on January 11 for the first time, since the pipeline was officially put into operation in 2017, according to public information.
The pipeline transportation, includes a 650-kilometer long-distance pipeline from Yantai to Zibo and the trunk line of Yantai Port crude oil pipeline, which sends crude oil to Shandong refineries, increasing the crude oil transportation capacity of Yantai Port from the original 20 million tonnes/year to 40 million t/y, according to OilChem.
In addition, the crude oil throughput of Yantai Port reached 1.13 million tonnes in just ten days at the beginning of 2023, and that of Shandong ports saw a steady increase, as China's total oil refining capacity achieved about 940 million t/y in 2022, up 0.21% compared with 2021, bringing more challenges and opportunities to the development of Shandong ports, data from OilChem showed.
OilChem expects that Yantai Port will strive to build China's most advanced port integrating crude oil tank farm, jetty and pipelines.
