According to Guangdong 14th Five-Year Plan, by 2025, Guangdong province is targeting urban gas penetration rate to achieve more than 99% and pipeline natural gas penetration rate to reach over 70%, with natural gas consumption to climb to 20 billion cubic meters and above. At the same time, total mileage of urban natural gas pipelines will reach more than 68,000 kilometers to achieve basic coverage, and LNG storage capacity of urban gas enterprises should get to 2.23 million cubic meters and above (liquid state), including current 665,600 cubic meters capacity and planned 1.57 million cubic meters capacity.
At present, Guangdong had a receiving capacity of 18.4 million t/y, accounting for 16.52% of China's total. Meanwhile, LNG import volume of Guangdong province was 18.55 million tonnes in 2022, occupying 29.75% of total imports in China, data from OilChem showed.
