Valin-ArcelorMittal joint venture Phase II starts operation

Valin ArcelorMittal Automotive Steel Co (VAMA), a 50/50 joint venture between ArcelorMittal, the world's second-largest steelmaker, and Hunan Valin Steel Group, one of the leading Chinese steelmakers, announced the official operation of its Phase II construction project on April 11 in Loudi city in Central China's Hunan province, according to a release posted by the automotive plate company via its official WeChat account on Tuesday.

The Phase II project began construction on February 1 2021 with a total investment of Yuan 1.3 billion ($189 million), and it started pilot operations at the end of 2022, Mysteel Global notes.
