DAILY: Chinese met coal offers steady despite slowed sales

Despite unfavorable factors on demand side and worsening sentiment among market participants, Chinese coking coal miners were still holding their offers steady on Monday, and offers for some coal grades even edged up.

The lingering strength of the market was seen as the result of a lag effect, some participants pointed out. Although end-users, mainly coke and steel makers, have finished a flurry of coal replenishment by the middle of last week and traders that sniffed some risks also scaled back purchases,
