On September 13, EU leaders officially announced that they would launch a countervailing investigation into Chinese electric vehicles. China thus expresses intensive concern and strong dissatisfaction with this action. China believes that the investigative measures proposed by the EU are to protect its own industry in the name of "fair competition". It is a naked protectionist act that will seriously disrupt and distort the global automotive industry chain and supply chain, including the EU. It will have a negative impact on China-EU economic and trade relations. China will firmly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
