According to the Ministry of Transport, the fourth 300,000 DWT crude oil jetty was officially put into operation on October 23 at Lanshan Port Area of Rizhao Port, located in Shandong province, making it the first single port area to have four 300,000 DWT crude oil jetties in China.
The fourth crude oil jetty project, with an investment of Yuan 820 million, has a 300,000 DWT crude oil loading and unloading berth as well as other supporting facilities. The project plays an important role for Rizhao Port in further improving port functions and reduce crude oil transportation costs for hinterland refining enterprises.
Upon completion, the project will bring an additional throughput capacity of 18 million tonnes for Rizhao Port. Meanwhile, relying on 5 long-distance crude oil pipelines and a storage capacity of more than 17 million cubic meters, Rizhao Port will become a 100 million DWT crude oil distribution center with the highest annual throughput capacity and the most complete supporting facilities of large, medium and small-scaled berths, further enhancing Rizhao Port's status as the largest port for Sinopec's crude oil landing and unloading port and the third largest crude oil landing port in China.
