On January 30, a company engaging in electric vehicle business in Shenzhen successfully auctioned off 1,240 commercial electric trucks on a large asset auction platform. These trucks were manufactured over 2017-2018, with a starting price of Yuan 45 million and a final price of Yuan 49.8 million, equaling to a unit price of around Yuan 40,000/vehicle. In other words, the prices per kilowatt hour exceeded the market price by a considerable amount.
With the retirement tide of electric vehicles approaching, the electric buses, vehicles engaging in hailing services, and trucks are the first ones to be retired.
