China's anode material production stood at 161,700 tonnes in April, up 20.85% month-on-month, and the capacity utilization rate gained 10.19 percentage points over month to 70.08%, driven by improved demand from downstream battery plants, according to OilChem.

In addition, Anhui Bond Rui New Material Technology, Shandong Genyuan New Materials, Sichuan Jinhuineng New Materials and Carbon New Energy Group added new capacity in April, which also contributed to the increase in anode material supply.
Thanks to rising demand from the electric vehicles market, the demand for anode material also turned better. Based on OilChem's data, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in March were 863,000 units and 883,000 units respectively, up 28.10% and 35.30% from the previous month, and the market share reached 32.80%.
