Yingkou LNG Terminal Phase I project successfully had the roof for its LNG storage tanks in place via gas lift, which are located at Xianren Island Port Area of Yingkou Port, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, on August 20.
The Yingkou LNG Terminal, owned by CCCC Urban and Rural Energy, started construction in March 2023, and is scheduled to be put into operations by the end of 2025.
It is constructed in two phases with a total receiving capacity of 6.20 million t/y of LNG. The Phase I project has an approved LNG receiving capacity of 3 million t/y, which comprises the construction of four LNG storage tanks of 200,000 cubic meters each and a dock capable of berthing LNG carriers up to 266,000 cubic meters.

At present, PipeChina Dalian Terminal is the only LNG terminal in Northeast China around the Bohai Rim region, with a total receiving capacity of 6 million t/y.
Once the Yingkou LNG Terminal project starts operations as scheduled next year, it can double the receiving capacity in Northeast China to 12.2 million t/y, which can provide 8.70 billion cubic meters per year of natural gas to the Northeast China and east of Inner Mongolia.
