Mysteel is pleased to announce that we successfully warp up the 2024 Lithium Industry Annual Conference held in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province over November 20-22, which calls together key market players from across the lithium-ion battery industry chain from the resource front to the end market.
At the conference, Mysteel invites multiple industrial leaders and experts to share with the meeting participants their insights and knowledge of the industry to address the most-concerned topics on the market, including the lithium carbonate demand prospect, technology advancing, development routes of solid-state batteries, innovative trading modes with the inclusion of hedging tools, etc.
Mysteel also delivers an exclusive speech on China's lithium carbonate supply and demand prospect. It is expected that China's lithium carbonate production will likely amount to 1.09 million tonnes throughout 2025 if the prices hover between Yuan 70,000-90,000/tonne, or 0.85 million tonnes should the prices bottom at Yuan 60,000-70,000/tonne. And the reduction will primarily come from the capacities that reply on outsourced raw materials from the spot market.
On the demand end, China's EV market is more than likely to maintain growth but at a much lower speed in 2025 after the share of newly sold EVs exceeded 50% of all vehicle retail sales on a monthly basis. It is likely that the annual growth of China's EV sales will be maintained at around 20-25% in 2025.
Apart from EVs, the energy storage system (ESS) will serve as a powerful growth engine for lithium-ion battery demand, and the ESS market is estimated to grow at a speed of 60-70% through 2025. That is, over 30% of China's lithium-ion battery sales are likely to happen in the ESS market.
The conference is followed by two special events targeting the international guests to help them better understand the Chinese market and find commercial opportunities. The first is a 1v1 match-making session between overseas lithium resource projects and China's downstream players and traders, and the meeting is highly efficient as the suppliers and consumers' demand is well understood before the event.
The second event is a site tour to visit China's major lithium converters, which is also a rare chance to talk face-to-face about the technology, demand, outlook, etc.
