UPDATE: Nippon Steel, US Steel file suits over blocked takeover deal

Nippon Steel has wasted no time carrying through with its promise to take all appropriate action to protect our legal rights after US President Joe Biden had blocked its takeover of United States Steel (US Steel), filing lawsuits on Monday against the Biden administration alleging unlawful political interference and that proper US constitutional procedures were violated.

"As a result of President Biden's undue influence to advance his political agenda, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States failed to conduct a good faith, national security-focused regulatory review process, depriving Nippon Steel and US Steel of their rightful opportunity for fair consideration of the Transaction,"
