On January 13, CATL, FAW Hongqi, and Longsheng New Energy jointly announced that the first EVOGO swapping station in Hong Kong has officially started construction on Ping Che Road in Fanling, New Territories. This is also the first passenger car swapping station in Hong Kong, marking a new stage in the construction of Hong Kong's new energy infrastructure.
It is reported that as one of the first "EVOGO swapping" models supported by CATL, FAW Hongqi E-QM5 will be the first to be put into use in the Hong Kong market, while Longsheng New Energy will be responsible for solving the land resources and land engineering reconstruction problems of the battery swapping station, as well as undertaking vehicle sales business. The tripartite cooperation will comprehensively support the development of green transportation in Hong Kong.
According to the plan, CATL, FAW Hongqi, and Longsheng New Energy plan to build EVOGO swapping stations throughout Hong Kong and deploy Hongqi E-QM5 electric taxis. The long-term goal is to build a new energy travel network covering Hong Kong and radiating to ASEAN through the "chocolate swapping" model, providing important support for regional green travel transformation.
This cooperation not only improves Hong Kong's green transportation infrastructure, but also creates new opportunities for CATL's EVOGO swapping ecosystem to expand its business in the international market through the unique advantages of Hong Kong Unicom overseas. CATL will continue to work with its partners to promote the global application of "EVOGO swapping".
