Coal exports from Newcastle port rebound 18% MoM in December

The Port of Newcastle in eastern Australia exported 14.76 million tonnes of all kinds of coal in December, rebounding by 17.5% on month and also higher by 0.2% from December 2023, according to the new data from the Port of Newcastle.
Coal exports from the port totalled about 149.9 million tonnes in 2024, rising by 3.8% from 2023's total, the data showed.   Newcastle port, located in New South Wales, is the largest coal port in the country. It handles around 70% of Australia's thermal coal exports and 15% of its metallurgical
