China's lithium hydroxide production stood at 16,300 tonnes in January, down 18.3% MoM. This decline was primarily due to the continued low operating rates of lithium hydroxide refining plants. Some manufacturers saw a reduction in orders and produced based on order requirements. At the same time, a major plant in Sichuan underwent full-line maintenance in January, further exacerbating the supply contraction.

China's lithium hydroxide production is expected to drop by 15.6% month-on-month to 13,700 tonnes in February. Prolonged maintenance at some refining plants has prevented the full release of production capacity. Meanwhile, the demand for ternary materials remains persistently weak.
