China's Baoshan Iron & Steel (Baosteel), Baowu Aluminum Technology Co, and Japan's Kobe Steel officially held an inauguration ceremony on February 13 in Shanghai, unveiling their joint venture producing automotive aluminum panels in China, according to the latest release from Baosteel.

The joint venture, named Kobelco Baosteel Automotive Aluminum Rolled Products Co, will supply environmentally friendly aluminum panels to automakers. The venture integrates Kobe Steel's wholly owned subsidiary Kobelco Automotive Aluminum Rolled Products (China) Co in North China's Tianjin with Baowu Aluminum's plant in Central China's Henan, as Mysteel Global reported.
