According to data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), China's crude oil imports recorded 51.41 million tonnes in March, rising 20.44% month on month primarily because some independent refineries ramped up the imports in advance on concerns over future supply.

The crude imports added up to 135.27 million tonnes in the first three months of 2025, down 1.52% from the same period last year.
In March, the top five origins of China's crude imports were Russia, Malaysia, Saidu Arabia, Iraq, and UAE, contributing 70.04% of China's total imports, GACC data showed.
