The China's cobalt powder production in April was 815 tonnes, an increase of 3.56% MoM but a decrease of 5.12% YoY. The cobalt powder smelting enterprises remained high operating rates in April. The prices of cobalt powder were not significantly affected by the raw material side as it was an additive used for traditional hard alloys. The demand side remained normal, and manufacturers were close to full production, with limited new orders. Thus, the production of cobalt powder steadily increased in April.
It's expected that cobalt powder production in May will reach 820 tonnes. The market inquires have been relatively light, and manufacturers are still firm to the price. The mainstream transaction prices run steady, and most enterprises remain stable production, temporarily maintaining full production. Small and medium-sized ones have poor shipments, and it is expected that cobalt powder production will not fluctuate much in May.
