Rio Tinto lowers average Fe content in flagship 'PB Fines' brand

Australian iron ore mining giant Rio Tinto has recently notified its Asian customers that the iron content of its flagship iron ore product, Pilbara Blend Fines, would be reduced from the typical 61.6% to 60.8%, with the adjustment likely to take effect between July and September, Mysteel Global has learned.

Beyond the headline iron content change, the new specifications for Pilbara Blend Fines would also see higher levels of impurities such as silica, alumina and phosphorus, the clients have been told.
