Specially, the imports from Chile fell 11.5% MoM at around 11,900 tonnes in June, contracting 24.3% from last year, GACC data showed. The imports from Argentina reported 5,094 tonnes, falling 23.1% MoM while up 48.3% from last year partly thanks to the steady ramp-up of Mariana project.
In June, the palpable reduction of lithium carbonate imports from Chile was due to the adjustment of the pricing method as well as the delivery cycle of long-term orders.
In the first half of 2025, China imported 117,800 tonnes lithium carbonate, up 10.7% from the same period last year.
