On July 28, CATL recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the People's Government of Jiyuan City, Henan Province. The two parties will deepen collaboration in the development of the new energy industry, energy storage technology applications, and green low-carbon transformation, jointly promoting large-scale deployment and innovative development of Jiyuan in the new energy sector.
According to the agreement, the cooperation will focus on three key areas, including R&D and application of energy storage technology, extension of the electric vehicle (EV) industrial chain, and construction of zero-carbon industrial parks. Leveraging its technological strengths in power batteries, energy storage systems, and smart grids, CATL will provide Jiyuan with comprehensive technical support, including lithium battery energy storage systems and integrated photovoltaic-storage-charging solutions. The company will also participate in Jiyuan's demonstration project for "integrated power source-grid-load-storage" systems, helping the region enhance its renewable energy consumption capacity and optimize its energy structure.
In the EV industrial chain, the two parties will explore large-scale applications of battery-swapping models for heavy-duty trucks, logistics vehicles, and other commercial vehicles. Building on Jiyuan's advantages as a national industry-city integration demonstration zone and transportation hub, CATL will assist in establishing a smart battery-swapping and charging network covering the entire region to promote the adoption of new energy commercial vehicles.
Additionally, the two parties plan to jointly build a zero-carbon industrial park. By integrating CATL's expertise in zero-carbon factory construction with Jiyuan's industrial foundation, the project aims to create a model industrial base combining green manufacturing and circular economy practices. The industrial park will introduce circular economy projects such as power battery recycling and echelon battery energy storage, forming a closed-loop industrial chain of "production-application-recycling" to support Jiyuan in achieving its dual-carbon goals.
