Kyoei Steel raises rebar prices - again

Kyoei Steel, Japan's largest rebar producer, has raised prices of its rebars at all its works by Yen 5,000/tonne ($34/t) effective immediately, the company announced on September 11 - a move industry watchers suggest is timed to head off rival mini-mill, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing.
Kyoei's announcement was its second surprise to the market in less than two weeks, Mysteel Global notes.   In mid-August, the company had declared that it was rolling over its rebar prices for September, only to suddenly declare on September 2 that it was lifting prices at its Yamaguchi plant in
