The vessel "OCEAN GLORY", carrying nearly 10,000 tonnes of nickel pig iron (NPI) from Indonesia, recently berthed at Taizhou Gaogang Port and cleared customs under the supervision of Taizhou Customs. This marks the first shipment of NPI imported through the Port of Taizhou, which will be used by Jiangsu Zhongtuo Company to produce 300-series stainless steel products.
To ensure swift and uninterrupted clearance, Taizhou Customs implemented advanced inspection arrangements and a "direct shipside pickup" model. These streamlined processes are part of broader efforts -- including port outreach programs -- to meet enterprise needs more effectively. The new clearance model saves companies approximately Yuan 150,000 per shipment.
With Taizhou Customs continuously optimizing services, more foreign trade firms are choosing to clear goods locally. From January to July this year, the total value of goods under the "direct pickup and loading" program at the port exceeded Yuan 5 billion.
