Taiwan CSC's carbon steel sales rise slightly in August

Carbon steel sales of China Steel Corp (CSC), Taiwan's top integrated steel producer headquartered in South Taiwan's Kaohsiung, increased slightly in August to reach 585,022 tonnes, up by 7,974 tonnes or 1.4% from July, according to the company's latest release on its website on September 26.

Despite the on-month recovery in August, CSC continued to lose money last month, recording a pre-tax loss of TWD 1.29 billion ($42.4 million), significantly greater than the that of TWD 840 million for the previous month, the release showed. The company noted it had kept its steel sales prices
