On October 20, Sichuan New Energy Power announced that its Lijiagou Lithium Mine project has reached full production capacity and is operating normally after trial production and commissioning phases. The project is designed with an annual mining and processing capacity of 1.05 million tonnes of raw ore, producing approximately 180,000 tonnes of lithium concentrate per year. Its lithium salt production capacity reaches 45,000 tonnes, including 30,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate.
Located in Jinchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, the Lijiagou Lithium Mine is one of the largest single spodumene lithium mines in Asia. The proven reserves of lithium oxide resources in the mining area amount to 502,200 tonnes, equivalent to approximately 1.24 million tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE), accompanied by rare metals such as tantalum and niobium. The ore boasts a relatively high grade, with an average lithium oxide content of 0.62%, and is characterized by easy mining and processing, along with a high recovery rate of concentrate.
In the first half of 2025, during the trial production period, Sichuan Energy Investment Lithium Technology achieved an operating revenue of Yuan 264 million and sold 48,600 tonnes of lithium concentrate.
