On October 24, GEM announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with XTC New Energy Materials (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. The two parties will jointly address the global market demand and challenges for ultra-high energy density battery materials, aiming to build an industrial consortium for ultra-high energy density battery materials. According to the agreement, from 2026 to 2028, GEM is expected to supply XTC New Energy with a total of 450,000 tonnes of various battery raw materials and products, with an annual supply of 150,000 tonnes.
Both parties have agreed to establish a long-term partnership in the raw material supply chain for lithium battery products used in consumer electronics, power applications, as well as low-altitude aircraft, eVTOLs, AI, and robotics. The collaboration will cover ternary materials, lithium cobalt oxide, solid-state lithium battery materials, semi-solid-state lithium battery materials, lithium-rich manganese-based materials, and related products.
