On November 12, Capchem stated on an interactive platform that LiPF6 is a core raw material for lithium-ion battery electrolytes. The company has completed its layout in LiPF6 through its investment in Shilei Fluorine Materials. Shilei Fluorine Materials currently has an annual LiPF6 production capacity of 24,000 tonnes, which is expected to reach 36,000 tonnes per year by the end of 2025 after technical upgrades. Further capacity expansion plans will be considered based on market demand.
The transmission of rising LiPF6 prices into electrolyte costs is gradually being realized. The fourth quarter is in a price transition phase, and newly signed contracts will fully reference the latest raw material prices for pricing, which will further improve transmission efficiency.
