On November 17, the Huanggang High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Hubei Province released the first environmental information announcement for Hubei Ruiyuan New Material's comprehensive recycling project with an annual processing capacity of 120,000 tonnes of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) black mass.
According to reports, the project involves a total investment of Yuan 700 million and plans to cover an area of 160 mu. It includes the construction of new R&D buildings, comprehensive workshops, decomposition workshops, pilot-scale workshops, raw material warehouses, comprehensive warehouses, auxiliary material warehouses, support facilities, and other auxiliary structures. Using 120,000 tonnes of LFP black mass as raw material, the project will acquire equipment for feed acid leaching and alkali leaching, aging equipment, freezing equipment, impurity removal equipment, evaporation equipment, drying and packaging equipment, and environmental treatment equipment. The processes will involve acid leaching, alkali leaching, purification and impurity removal, production of sodium phosphate, production of lithium phosphate, and production of lithium carbonate. The project is designed with an annual processing capacity of 120,000 tonnes of LFP black mass.
