GEM recently confirmed it has begun volume supply of its products for the 4680 large cylindrical battery market. In addition, the company is committed to providing customers with a diverse range of cathode material solutions for solid-state batteries.
As the world's largest supplier of high-nickel ternary precursors, GEM began developing cathode materials compatible with solid-state batteries as early as 2019. These materials are designed to work with one or multiple types of solid electrolytes, including halides, sulfides, polymers, and oxides.
The company has established technical development paths and achieved breakthroughs across various cathode technologies for solid-state batteries--such as high-nickel, ultra-high-nickel, and lithium-rich manganese-based materials--with commercial shipments exceeding the tonne level for each category.
