EMSTEEL partners with Primetals Technologies for wire rod projects

EMSTEEL, one of the largest steel and building materials manufacturers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has reached an agreement with UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies to build a new wire rod line and upgrade an existing wire rod mill at its Abu Dhabi facility, according to releases by EMSTEEL and Primetals Technologies. The new wire rod outlet is designed with a capacity up to 500,000 tonnes/year, EMSTEEL said.

Upon completion, EMSTEEL's product portfolio will be expanded to include high-value-added wire rods, high tensile rebar in coil as well as premium pre-stressed concrete (PC) strand grades, according to the releases.
