On December 22, the People's Government of Shan County, Heze City, Shandong Province, issued the pre-approval public participation announcement for the environmental impact assessment of the Annual 100,000-tonne Waste Lithium Battery Comprehensive Recycling and Reuse Project by Shandong Asia Metal Recycling and Environmental Protection Co., Ltd.
The project is located at No. 1 Beichen Road, Shan County Chemical Industry Park, Heze City, Shandong Province. The construction scope includes a crushing and sorting system, an oxygen-free pyrolysis system, a metal recovery and reuse system, an environmental protection system, a technical center, and other supporting ancillary facilities. Upon reaching full capacity, the project will be capable of recycling and processing 100,000 tonnes of waste lithium batteries annually, including 60,000 tonnes of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) single cells and 40,000 tonnes of ternary lithium single cells. It will employ domestically advanced waste lithium battery recycling technologies, enabling the circular reuse of materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese after the waste batteries undergo crushing and sorting pretreatment. In addition, the processing targets exclusively single cells from waste lithium batteries, excluding any cascade utilization processes and not involving hazardous waste disposal activities.
With a total investment of Yuan 650 million, fully self-funded by the enterprise, the project will occupy an additional land area of 23,759 square meters. Construction is scheduled to commence in June 2026, with an expected operational date in December 2026.
